My name is Soraya Sampedro. I have a degree in Fine Arts and a graphic designer.
Since I was very little I always liked photography and always wanted to have a camera. My first reflex camera arrived when I started my second year at college, it was a simple and completely manual camera with a 50mm lens, the photos I took were mostly in BW, because it was cheaper and I could also develop them in the laboratory. Shortly after finding my first job I bought a Nikon F80, a much more advanced camera than my first camera and together with 3 amateur colleagues we met to take portrait photos of a girl on the weekends, but some time later I changed cities and I also stopped taking photos often.

Even so, there is something that has always obsessed me, light. Long before I started taking photos, I was struck by how light was changed during the day and how different it was depending on the seasons, and I always thought the same thing:
I want to capture that light !
My next "serious" camera (I say serious, because in between I have had several digital cameras, but none that saved RAW files), arrived by chance a little before the pandemic, another Nikon, it was a D7200, a great digital camera with a sensor. apsc. From that moment on, it was when I began to get seriously hooked on photography, although I really took off when, after the pandemic, we started going out again.
I think it all started because I had to start, but part of the reason for this wonderful hobby lies with my colleagues and now friends, who were the ones who took me out of the house one day in May 2019 and since that moment I have not stopped taking photos.
As for my training and knowledge, I have been completely self-taught. I am passionate about all fields of photography, but especially architectural photography and landscape photography, both day and night.
I have been the winner of several awards at the local, national and international level, highlighting a second place "Runner Up" in the architecture category in the prestigious Siena Creative Photo Awards 2023 competition.

Desde muy pequeña siempre me gustó la fotografía y siempre quise tener una cámara. Mi primera cámara reflex llegó cuando empecé mi segundo año en la facultad, era una cámara sencilla y completamente manual con un objetivo 50mm, las fotos que hacía eran, la mayoría en BW, porque resultaba más económico y además podía revelarlas yo en el laboratorio. Al poco tiempo de encontrar mi primer trabajo me compré una Nikon F80, una cámara mucho más avanzada que mi primera cámara y junto con 3 compañeros aficionados quedábamos para hacer fotos de retrato a alguna chica los fines de semana, pero un tiempo después cambié de ciudad y también dejé de hacer fotos a menudo.
Aún así, hay algo que desde siempre me ha obsesionado, la luz. Desde mucho antes de comenzar a hacer fotos me llamaba la atención cómo esa luz iba cambiando durante el día y lo diferente que era según las estaciones y siempre pensaba lo mismo:
¡ quiero captar esa luz !
Mi siguiente cámara "seria" (digo seria, porque en el medio he tenido varias cámaras digitales, pero ninguna que guardase archivos RAW), llegó por casualidad un poco antes de la pandemia, otra Nikon, era una D7200, una pedazo cámara digital con sensor apsc. A partir de ese momento fue cuando me empecé a enganchar en serio a la fotografía, aunque realmente mi despegue llegó cuando, después de la pandemia, empezamos a volver a salir a la calle.
Creo que todo empezó porque tenía que empezar pero, parte de la culpa de este maravilloso hobby la tienen mis compañeros y ahora amigos, que fueron los que me sacaron de casa un día de mayo de 2019 y desde ese momento no he parado de hacer fotos.
En cuanto a mi formación y mis conocimientos, han sido siempre totalmente autodidactas, me apasionan todos los campos de la fotografía pero en especial la fotografía de arquitectura y la de paisaje, tanto diurna como nocturna.
He sido ganadora de varios premios a nivel local, nacional y también internacional destacando un segundo puesto "Runner Up" en la categoría de arquitectura en el prestigioso concurso Siena Creative Photo Awards 2023.
